Oliver O’Donoghue has been working as a fully trained psychotherapist & mediation instructor for
many years, along with teaching Martial Arts to children for over 20 years. Oliver will be discussing
the philosophy behind his “Warrior Camp” – Easter, Summer and Halloween Camps for children
aged 5-12, which have been developed & designed specifically to get children outdoors, interacting
with each other and their natural surroundings in order to bring balance back into their lives.

Ollan Herr designs low-energy rain water harvesting systems and reed-bed ecological waste water
treatment systems. Ollan will be discussing ways to reduce our daily water demand and how to use
natural plant based systems and ecology to treat our freshwater resources.
Marcus McCabe and Brian Dooley of Hempire Building Materials Ltd will be discussing positive
solutions to reduce the CO 2 emissions created by the manufacture of building materials. Hempire
manufacture building materials using industrial Irish hemp as the main raw material. Hemp
production also has many other environmental benefits as it requires little to no biocides, improves
soil structure and fertility, and controls erosion.
Gareth Conlon holds a Masters in International Development and works in conjunction with
Development Perspectives, a leading education NGO in Ireland, whose mission is to “contribute to
lessening poverty, inequality and climate change through transformative education and active global
citizenship” (Development Perspective). Gareth will be discussing the reasons why Permaculture (the
development of sustainable agricultural ecosystems) should be implemented worldwide to alleviate
numerous social and environmental injustices.
Thelma Burke holds a BSc in Bakery Management and as researched the environmental effects of
using ingredients and products that have not been sourced sustainably. Thelma’s research focused
on the use of palm oil in bread and she will be discussing the reasons why we should be more aware
of the life-cycle of our food.
